Claire and Jordan threw their families’ Christmas plans for a loop one year when they decided to get married on Christmas Eve. They were both 19 years old and Jordan was scheduled to deploy to Iraq during the height of an unpopular war. They had no idea what the future would hold but knew they would face it together. The first year of their young marriage was spent apart. When they were reunited they thought for sure the worst was over. What happened in the following years continued to surprise them, but thankfully God was not surprised. With Him in their midst they faced more separations, lost babies to miscarriages, welcomed two beautiful children into the world, and experienced catastrophic injuries in combat and car accidents. But God is good and He has held them in His arms every step of the way, always providing joy and peace.
Jordan is now medically retired from the Army due to injuries sustained in combat. He is an artist who also uses his talent to create elaborate holiday decorations and renovate their home.
Claire finished her degree in Biblical studies and theology from Liberty University while recovering from her own traumatic brain injury. She currently homeschools the kids while creating behind-the-scenes content for their YouTube channel and podcast.

Lucy is our first born and can often be found in the dance studio, reading a book, or drawing something. She was just 3 years old when her daddy was wounded, requiring the family to move to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Being thrown into life at a military hospital was not easy for her but she found a lifelong outlet in dance. Today she dances with the studio where she began when she was 3, and is also a senior member in a ballet company. Lucy has had to face her own medical issues over the years but she does it with humor and grace. God has given her a loving heart and cheery disposition that lights up the lives of those around her.
Tag was born just 11 days before his daddy was wounded and spent the majority of his young life in and out of military hospitals with his parents. Wherever they went he brought smiles and comfort to the other families around them. God has blessed Tag with a unique view of the world and a tender heart for people and animals. He’s a skateboard-loving boy who also has a creative side that he expresses by making toys or play sets out of tape and cardboard. Tag is also the wild card. No one ever knows what he will say or do, which provides a lot of laughs when they are most needed. He loves the Lord and his family with all of his giant heart.
Maci is our service dog. She was placed with Jordan in 2016 just a month before Claire and the kids were in their car accident. Can you imagine being trained to respond to one person’s TBI and PTSD issues only to suddenly have every person in the house exhibiting those same symptoms? She’s a true hero and makes life so much better. Her favorite things are her family, giving kisses, eating honeydew melon, snuggling her Bluey pillow, and riding Dumbo at Walt Disney World.
